At The Allied Health Academy, we recognise the distinct challenges that board directors in the early stages of their career, as well as seasoned directors, of allied health organisations face. To address these challenges, we are offering Board Bootcamp, a specialised online program aimed at equipping you with the essential knowledge and skills to implement effective governance practices and drive value creation.

This program is designed to bridge the gap between leadership roles and business acumen, empowering you to excel as both a strategic leader and a business driver in the allied health sector. Our goal is to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to lead a sustainable business, unlock new opportunities, and make a significant impact in the allied health sector. Through our Board Bootcamp, we bring together governance experts, innovative strategies, and a supportive community to help you navigate the challenges of leading and scaling your own allied health business. 

The Board Bootcamp offers a comprehensive and immersive learning experience through structured learning modules, engaging fortnightly cohort-based live calls, expert mentorship, and a wealth of resources including additional reading and videos, and case studies. The program, spread across 16 weeks, comprises eight learning modules. Each module is designed to fit comfortably into your schedule, requiring a manageable commitment of 2-3 hours every fortnight.

This program covers key aspects from understanding CEO and Director challenges, responsibilities and governance, evaluation, to managing resilience and coping with disruption, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of effective governance and value creation in allied health businesses. This program is designed to equip directors of allied health businesses with the necessary knowledge and skills for effective governance and value creation.

Dr Susan Nancarrow, CEO HealthWork International & The Allied Health Academy

Susan is an allied health professional, health services researcher, recovering academic, and the Chair of the Allied Health Assistants’ National Association (AHANA). Susan has more than twenty years’ experience of international health services research, expertise and analysis, with a particular interest in the health workforce, models of health service organisation and delivery, and the sociology of the professions. She founded HealthWork International in 2021 to find new and innovative ways to shape the health workforce, to better meet the needs of 21st century health care.
